    Aloo Chaat

    This spicy and tangy North Indian street food is an outright winner. It's super delish and whipping it up is a breeze. Enjoy it as a snack or an appetizer!!

    Aloo chaat

    Ingredients

    • 4 potatoes, diced
    • 4 tablespoon oil
    • ½ cup onion, finely chopped
    • 1 teaspoon ginger, finely chopped
    • 1 green chili, finely chopped
    • 1 teaspoon chili powder
    • 1 tablespoon chaat masala
    • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
    • ¼ cup cilantro or coriander, finely chopped
    • ½ teaspoon salt or as per taste

    Instructions

    1. Heat oil in a non-stick or heavy-bottomed pan on medium heat.
    2. Add potatoes and saute till crispy and golden brown.
    3. Stir in all the spices - salt, red chili powder, and chaat masala. Give it a nice toss. Turn off the flame.
    4. Further, add onions, green chili, ginger, and lemon juice while it's still in the pan. Mix well.
    5. Transfer the chaat to a serving bowl and garnish with cilantro.
    6. Serve and enjoy!!

    Variations

    Aloo chaat is such a versatile recipe, you can serve it as is or adapt as per your liking.

    • Top this chaat with tamarind chutney, coriander chutney, beaten yogurt, fine sev, and pomegranate seeds to give it a sweet and spicy twist.
    • Make this chaat healthier by using diced parboiled potatoes instead and using less oil while the recipe remains the same.
