Ingredients
- 2 tablespoon Olive oil
- 1 cup onions, chopped
- 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
- 1 cup sour cream
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- Salt, as per taste
- ¼ teaspoon freshly ground pepper
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add onions and about ¼ teaspoon salt to the oil. Cook and stir occasionally till they are caramelized or are a nice golden brown, about 20 minutes.
- Remove the pan and let it cool.
- Stir in the rest of the ingredients to the pan. Adjust salt as per your liking. Mix well.
- Refrigerate and chill for about an hour before serving.
- Serve with good old potato chips, Pita chips, crackers, or freshly baked bread.
Recipe Notes
- If you don't like Mayonnaise, you can replace it with Greek Yogurt.
- It is a make-ahead recipe (up to a day in advance) as the flavors meld the longer it sits.
- Store and refrigerate in an airtight container for up to a week.
