This simple yet irresistibly delicious paneer dish is a lifesaver for those busy weeknights. It takes under 20 minutes to make and tastes great with naan or tawa paratha!!!
Ingredients
- 200 gm paneer, cubed
- 1 medium onion, cut into 1" pieces
- 1 red bell pepper or capsicum, cut into 1" pieces
- 10-12 grape tomatoes, halved
- 1 cup tomato puree, fresh or canned
- 1 teaspoon kashmiri chili powder
- 1 teaspoon tandoori masala
- ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
- ½ teaspoon garam masala
- 2 tablespoon cilantro or coriander, chopped
- 2 tablespoon oil
- ½ cup water
- salt to taste
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large pan on medium-high heat.
- Add onions and saute for 2-3 minutes or until translucent.
- Now further add bell pepper, cook for another 2 minutes. It should still be nice and crisp.
- Stir in all the spices - chili powder, turmeric, tandoori masala, and garam masala. Give it a good mix.
- Then add tomato puree and cook till oil leaves the sides.
- Add salt and water. Stir well.
- As soon as the gravy comes to a simmer, lower the heat and stir in the paneer pieces.
- Cook for another 5 minutes or so.
- Finally, add grape tomatoes and turn off the flame.
- Garnish with cilantro.
- Serve with naan, paratha, or your favorite Indian flatbread!!
Recipe Notes
- Feel free to use any color bell pepper. I used red bell pepper for a pop of color.
- Don't overcook onions and peppers.
- You can add another half cup of water if you like more gravy.
